Commodity Watch: Copper futures slip on trimmed positions

New Delhi: Copper futures fell Rs 31.75 to Rs 1,294.90 per kilogram as participants reduced their positions amid muted demand in the domestic market. Copper futures for the February contract eased by 2.39 per cent in a business turnover of 5,815 lots. Analysts attributed the decline in copper prices to lower bets by participants.
Zinc futures decline on weaker trend
Zinc prices fell Rs 3.45 to Rs 307.05 per kilogram in futures trade as speculators reduced their exposure, tracking negative cues from the spot market. Zinc contracts for February delivery slipped by 1.11 per cent in a business turnover of 929 lots.
Aluminium futures fall on low bets
Aluminium prices declined by Rs 5.35 to Rs 308.15 per kilogram in the futures trade as participants trimmed their positions on a weak trend in the spot market. Aluminium for delivery in February fell 1.71 per cent in 1,219 lots.
